Oklahoma Defeats Texas in First Game of Series

Oklahoma City, OK - The University of Oklahoma Sooners are one step closer to claiming the 2024 NCAA Division I Softball Women's College World Series title after defeating the Texas Longhorns 8-3 on Friday night.

Sooners Dominate Longhorns in Game 2

In a highly anticipated matchup, the Sooners showcased their offensive prowess, scoring five runs in the first three innings to take an early lead. The Longhorns struggled to keep up, but managed to score a run in the third inning.

Oklahoma's pitching staff was equally impressive, allowing just three runs on five hits. Senior pitcher Giselle Juarez led the way, striking out seven batters in five innings of work.

Series Moves to Game 3

With the victory, the Sooners take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series. Game 3 will be held on Saturday night, where Oklahoma looks to secure the championship while Texas aims to force a decisive Game 4.
