Christie Sides Named Head Coach of Indiana Fever

New Era Begins in Indianapolis

Sides Brings Wealth of Experience to the Franchise

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Fever have named Christie Sides as their new head coach, the organization announced today. Sides becomes the ninth head coach in franchise history and will officially start her position on February 27th, 2023.

Sides joins the Fever after spending the past two seasons as an assistant coach with the Dallas Wings. Prior to that, she was the head coach of the University of Illinois-Chicago for three seasons. Under her leadership, the Flames reached the Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) in 2021 and 2022.

"Christie brings a proven track record of success at both the collegiate and professional levels. Her passion for the game, her ability to develop players, and her commitment to winning make her the ideal person to lead our team."

Sides has a strong reputation for player development, having helped several players reach the WNBA and international leagues. She is also known for her innovative offensive and defensive schemes, which have helped her teams to success.

Sides will be introduced to the media at a press conference on Monday, March 6th at 10:00 AM ET at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The Fever will tip off their 2023 season on May 19th at home against the Minnesota Lynx.
